world, today announced that Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: CHTR)
has selected a full suite of VeriSign VoIP and connectivity services to
power its’ residential and business telephone products. VeriSign provides
Intelligent Network services, including Calling Name and Portability Services
and SS7 connectivity to power Charter’s telephone service.
Charter Telephone® is a high-quality, reliable residential
and business voice service provided through Charter’s private, managed
broadband network. By leveraging VeriSign's global telecommunications
network, Charter's network can connect seamlessly to the Public Switched
Telecommunications Network (PSTN), while also delivering enhanced calling
services such as Calling Name delivery. VeriSign also assists Charter
with porting customer numbers, ensuring new Charter Telephone customers
can keep their existing telephone numbers.
