Encrypting a message using Outlook Express
E-mail messages are relatively easy for other people to intercept and read. The only way you can
be sure that your e-mail is private is to encrypt your messages so that only the person you send it
to can read it.
To encrypt a message, you need to have a copy of the the other person's Digital ID. When you
receive a signed message from someone, you can save the Digital ID from the signed message, so
you can easily send them encrypted messages. If you do not have someone's Digital ID, you can
either ask them to send you a signed message or you can search for their Digital ID in a directory.
You can encrypt individual messages or configure your security preferences to automatically
encrypt all e-mail messages to recipients whose Digital IDs are stored in your address book. See
Encrypting individual messages using Outlook Express and Automatically encrypting outgoing
messages for more information.
