An SSL Certificate contains your Distinguished Name information to help establish trust online. Extended Validation SSL Certificates display the information near the address bar in high-security browsers. When site visitors click the VeriSign seal or the closed padlock the information is shown on the certificate verification page for all VeriSign® SSL Certificates. Enter your Distinguished Name information accurately to reflect your registered organization name. Be sure to use capitalization, abbreviations and punctuation exactly as you would like it to appear to Web site visitors.
From the beginning, VeriSign has applied the industry’s most rigorous validation practices before issuing an SSL Certificate and the VeriSign seal has become the most trusted security mark on the Internet. You may change corporate and technical contacts during renewal enrollment. However, you will need to apply for a new certificate if any of the Distinguished Name information has changed, with the exception of the Organizational Unit.
