Over
the last few years, the explosive growth in online blogging (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog)
usage has unfortunately seen a parallel growth in misuse from spam blogs
(splogs) to claiming someone else’s content as their own.
VeriSign
is collaborating with blog producers, aggregators, developers, and consumers
to help define and develop a framework to reduce some of these misuses.
The framework enables everyone (Consumers, readers, aggregators, and
such) to authenticate (know to some level of certainty) the blog publisher
(and other intermediaries in the network if they have added to/modified
the feed).
