VeriSign® Number Portability

How It Works: Service Order Administration (SOA)

1. A service order is entered into the Service Order Administration (SOA) via the SOA Web interface.

2. The order is sent from SOA to  a Number Portability Administration Center.

3. A pending subscription version is created by NPAC.

4. A concurrence notification is sent by the old service provider to NPAC.

5. The new service provider activates the subscription version on or after due date using SOA.

6. The “activate” message is sent by the SOA to the appropriate NPACs.

7. NPAC broadcasts the “activate” to all connected Local Service Management  Systems in the region.

8. The LSMS immediately updates the NP database for call routing.
