VeriSign® TCAP CLASS Messaging

How It Works

The VeriSign network is interconnected to virtually all RBOCs and ILECs, enabling easy access delivery of CLASS features regardless of the switch location.

Off-Network TCAP Query

1. A carrier’s TCAP query (such as automatic call-back) passes through VeriSign’s network, where an intermediate GTT determines the appropriate STP routing.

2. The query is directed to the LATA STP, where a final GTT determines the switch point code and final routing.

3. The response is Message Transfer Part, routed back to the carrier’s switch.

4. For TCAP queries launched from another LEC, the procedure is reversed, with the intermediate GTT performed at the LATA STP and the final GTT performed by VeriSign.

On-Network TCAP Query

1. Carrier’s TCAP query passes through VeriSign’s network as if bound for a LEC.

2. VeriSign performs the final GTT and forwards to the customer switch.

3. The response is MTP-routed back to carrier’s switch through VeriSign’s STPs.

4. If another VeriSign customer launches a TCAP CLASS message to carrier, the above process is reversed.
