Mediated Softswitch

How It Works

Through the use of IP links between the customer’s media gateway and the VeriSign softswitch, carriers are able to maintain connectivity to the PSTN and interoperate with other IP networks. They benefit from immediate savings associated with IP infrastructure without the capital outlay or operation and equipment maintenance costs.

Internet Offload Signaling

VeriSign signaling enables call set-up, routing, validation, and authorization, enabling the use of intermachine trunks (IMTs), a cost-saving alternative for terminating dial-up Internet calls.

Toll By-Pass

Toll By-Pass enables carriers and providers to control the cost of domestic and international long distance calls by routing traffic over IP networks while interoperating with the PSTN.

VoIP Internetworking

Softswitch enables protocol conversion, access to PSTN, and connection to other IP networks to enhance IP infrastructures.
