VeriSign Appoints Herb Hribar as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Global Registry Services
Veteran Internet Leader Brings Strong Operating Experience and Track-Record in Growing Infrastructure Businesses

(NASDAQ: VRSN), the leading provider of Internet trust services, today announced that it has appointed veteran Internet executive Herb Hribar as Executive Vice President and General Manager of VeriSign's Global Registry Services group. Hribar, formerly CEO of Interliant, will join VeriSign to lead the expansion of service offerings from the company's globally deployed registration and resolution infrastructure that currently supports the Internet's Domain Name System (DNS). Hribar will oversee development, operations and business development of new and existing services at the Global Registry. This global infrastructure, based on an authoritative database of domain names, is critical to the routing and resolution of domain names globally, and will serve as the basis for new VeriSign offerings in the future.

Prior to Interliant, Hribar was the president and COO of Verio Inc., president of Ameritech Cellular Services, Vice President of Sprint and Sprint International and also a Vice President at GTE Telenet.
