Become a Registrar
New registrars must establish an account with
the Registry to gain access to the Operational Test & Evaluation
environment where they test their client applications. Following financial
and technical certification, and the execution of contracts, a registrar
can access the production environment and the Shared Registration System.
At that point, registrars provide domain registration services for all
.com and .net. domain names, including IDNs.
Only .com and .net registrars are eligible
to be IDN certified through Verisign. The IDN Registrar Information
Packet describes the process for becoming a certified IDN registrar.
VeriSign enables domain name providers to expand
offerings with access to more domain names and value-add services. Once
established as a registrar with the Name Store platform, registrars
have access to other
Top-Level Domains. Increased name choices expand your company’s
potential markets and customer base.
