IDN Standards
As the definitive registry of .com and .net
domains, VeriSign contributed to the standards process in order to make
these domains available to a wider Internet community.
VeriSign maintains effective communication
with other members of the organizations responsible for Internet standards:
the Internet Architecture Board, the IETF, and ICANN.
These registrars offer IDN registration services.
VeriSign’s IDN program is following IDN standards
by the Internet Architecture Board, the IETF, and ICANN. As the related
IDN standards evolve and get updated in the future, the IDN program
is subject to change
VeriSign processes IDN transactions on a first-come,
first-served basis in accordance with the .com and .net Shared Registration
System (SRS). If a dispute occurs, VeriSign recommends the use of the
ICANN-approved Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) by registrars,
end users, and third parties.
