Adobe Flash Player Flash Video File Parsing Integer Overflow Vulnerability
Adobe Flash Player is an application for viewing animations and movies using computer programs such as a Web browser; in common use, Flash lets users put animation and movies on a website. Flash Player runs SWF files that can be created by the Adobe Flash authoring tool, by Adobe Flex or by a number of other third-party tools. Remote exploitation of a heap buffer overflow vulnerability in Adobe Systems Inc.'s Flash Player could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the current user.
The vulnerability occurs when parsing a specially crafted Flash video (.f4v) file with encryption when it processes samples. Each sample has a size parameter. An integer overflow occurs when calculating the data length to copy based on the size parameter, which further causes a heap overflow. This can lead to the execution of arbitrary code.

- Flash Player versions 11.3.300.271 and prior - network distribution
- Flash Player 184.108.40.206 and prior for Linux
- Flash Player versions 220.127.116.11 and prior for Android 4.x
- Flash Player vesions 18.104.22.168 and prior for Android 3.x and 2.x
- Flash Player versions 11.3.300.271 and prior for Chrome users (Windows and Linux)
- Flash Player versions 11.3.300.271 and prior for Chrome users (Macintosh)
- AIR versions 22.214.171.12470 and prior for Windows and Macintosh
- AIR versions 126.96.36.19990 SDK (includes AIR for iOS) and prior
- AIR versions 188.8.131.5250 and prior for Android
Disable or uninstall Flash Player, or only allow it to run from trusted websites. This can be performed by changing the permissions on the Flash plug-in binary, or by modifying browser plug-in configuration options.
