Adobe Shockwave .w32 FLST Heap Buffer Overflow Vulnerability

Remote exploitation of a heap overflow vulnerability in Adobe Systems Inc.'s Shockwave could allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the current user.
This vulnerability occurs when Shockwave processes a maliciously constructed "FLST" record. Specifically, data from the record is copied into a fixed-sized (0x1000) heap buffer without ensuring that the buffer is large enough to hold the data. This results in heap corruption, which can lead to the execution of arbitrary code.
Exploitation of this vulnerability results in the execution of arbitrary code with the privileges of the user viewing the Web page. To exploit this vulnerability, a targeted user must load a malicious Web page created by an attacker. An attacker typically accomplishes this via social engineering or injecting content into compromised, trusted sites. After the user visits the malicious Web page, no further user interaction is needed.
Shockwave versions 126.96.36.1990 and prior are vulnerable.
iDefense is currently unaware of any workaround for this issue.
